The Mekong countries, backed by an abundant labor force and a growing middle class driving domestic demand, represent a region with immense growth potential. To harness this potential for sustainable economic development, a unified approach to economic development in the region is crucial. Japan has been actively working to strengthen economic relations with the Mekong region and its individual countries.

Recently, based on the Mekong Industrial Development Vision(MIDV) 2.0, projects contributing to Mekong-Japan economic cooperation have been advanced under three pillars: (1) Connectivity, (2) Digital Innovations, and (3) SDGs. In order to showcase these achievements and engage in discussions about promising future projects, AEM-METI Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee (AMEICC), Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), National Economic and Social Development Council of Thailand (NESDC), Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Bangkok, and Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC) will jointly host the Mekong-Japan Business Seminar.
