Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Support Center

    Business Matching

Project Overview:

In this project, Mediator organized an Online Business Matching event, a new type of seminar that helps connect Thai and Japanese companies. This was especially crucial due to strict cross-border travel regulations amid the COVID-19 pandemic, which made it difficult to attend overseas exhibitions or visit partner companies in person. In this project, we supported the creation of new connections between Japanese SMEs and Thai companies, offering opportunities to expand business and trade channels abroad despite the pandemic. Mediator was entrusted with the full operation and management of all event activities.

Work Details:

  • Planned and managed business matching sessions.
  • Provided interpreters.
  • Recruited buyers for the business matching sessions.
  • Matched sellers with buyers and coordinated meeting schedules.
  • Assisted in promoting the business matching event.

Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises possess advanced production innovations, but these innovations are not often used abroad. For this business matching event, Mediator started by studying the strengths and selling points of each participating Japanese company. We then proceeded to match them with Thai companies according to their business expansion strategies. We leveraged the benefits of an online platform, where anyone could participate from anywhere, to attract Thai companies from various regions to the event.

This project not only required coordination skills and a strong network but also a key challenge: the ability to accurately listen to the needs of the participating companies and precisely match them. The Mediator team demonstrated its potential by using its experience from countless past business matching events to successfully execute this project.

This business matching event involved 25 Japanese companies, each with unique products from a wide range of industries. As a result, it took more time than usual to select and match interested companies. However, by adjusting our plan from the very beginning to streamline the process of managing a large number of business meetings, we were able to successfully carry out the business matching to the client's satisfaction.
