Project Overview:

The “INNO-vation” project, a program for bold and creative ideas, was first held in Japan in 2014 by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. The 2022 event marked the third consecutive year it was held in Thailand, with Mediator coordinating the project each time. The program invited creative ideas from the public, with no restrictions on age, gender, or educational background, encouraging people from various professions to submit their “unique and unconventional” ideas.

The judging panel consisted of distinguished experts from both Japan and Thailand. A special “Sponsor Challenge” category was included for Thailand, which attracted an overwhelming number of submissions. A total of 1,716 ideas were submitted, with 1,413 in the Generation Award/Sponsor Challenge categories and 303 in the Disruptive Challenge category. In the end, 36 Thai ideas won the Generation Award/Sponsor Challenge, and one idea was a finalist in the Disruptive Challenge—making the second Thai person to ever be a finalist in this category, winning up to 1 million baht in project funding.

Work Details:

  • Publicized the project to find idea submitters
  • Invited sponsors to provide prize money
  • Managed the entire idea submission process from start to finish
  • Organized the Sponsor Award Ceremony in Thailand
  • Ensured smooth operations for the entire event

Mediator has been entrusted with coordinating this project for three consecutive years. Our goal this time was to publicize the event more widely to encourage more people to submit their ideas and showcase the potential of Thai creativity on an international level. We planned a promotional campaign to reach all age groups, from students to the general public, and distributed information to schools and universities. We also selected influencers who aligned with the target audience, which helped us successfully attract a high number of submissions.

For this project, we placed a strong emphasis on publicity to ensure the smooth success of the INNO-vation program. We had to plan meticulously, and since the work involved multiple parts—from recruiting ideas, publicity, and data collection to finding sponsors and organizing the award ceremony—it was crucial to maintain consistent and effective communication within the team.
